FSUโs Reservation will be a flurry activity Saturday, March 8, 2014 when the first REZ3 triathlon kicks off the local triathlon season in Tallahassee. On Sunday, March 2, 2014 a couple dozen participants previewed some of the course on a morning that was simply gorgeous. Jennifer Kilinski, race director for the series, held a free clinic for registered participants that reviewed race rules, flow, strategies, and provided a safe opportunity to swim the courseโs waters. Veteran triathletes Marci Gray, Chuck Kemeny (Ultraman Florida 2014 winner), and Ann and Jeff Bowman were on hand to swim, assist, and share their knowledge with racers looking to preview the course before Saturdays event. Spotted taking advantage of the training opportunity were Gulf Winds Triathletes past president Rob McNeely and Miss Kona herself Kate Harrison. A review of the new transition area which will better separate the riders and runners during the race was presented that also ad-dressed race strategy and equipment. Lifeguards for FSUโs staff then deployed in kayaks and on the beach to supervise a brisk group swim. Participants generally exited the water feelingโฆrefreshed. We encourage everyone to race but if not volunteering gets you a front row seat to watch the drama. Go to tritherez.com for more information!
