Gulf Winds Triathletes is now accepting nominations for our 2025 Board of Directors.
If you were unable to attend our August meeting, as a board, we have proposed the following changes to our club bylaws. All changes are centered around the board positions.
A summary of changes is as follows:
1. Allow 1 month to have people nominate/volunteer for a board position for an election, if necessary.
2. Eliminate the Past-President position. We have found all of our Past Presidents have been more than willing to help with the club after their terms ended.
3. Vice President/President Elect – The proposal is that the President can be anyone who’s currently serving on the board or has served on the board in the past. Each year, the club will elect a new President.
4. Reduce the number of board members required allowing for flexibility in the number of people willing to serve.
At this time, we’re looking for people who want to serve on the board in 2025 and plan to hold an election (if necessary) near the end of September 2024.
Positions Include:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- 3-5 Director at large positions
Curious what the Board of Directors does? We meet once a month for one hour prior to the regular monthly meeting to discuss club business. This might include anything from creating a list of guest speakers and planning a club BBQ to reviewing the club’s financial health, finding new sponsors, and thinking of fun ways to help grow the sport of triathlon here in Tallahassee, FL.
