Mickey ran two laps and was so fast he made it back for the photo. Michelle and Avery were there too, and word is our ultra-marathoner, Signe is still out there running laps. Weโ€™re very excited to announce that Gulf Winds T Weโ€™re very excited to announce that Gulf Winds Triathletes has secured a date for the 2024 St. Marks Duathlon (March 3, 2024) and race registration is now live! ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ If youโ€™re unfamiliar with the duathlon format, itโ€™s run-bike-run, and at this particular race, the distances are as follows: ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ 5K (3.1 miles) ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ 20K (12.4 miles) ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ 2.5K (1.6 miles) In addition to regular age groups, thereโ€™s also a fat tire division ๐Ÿ›ž (so you could use a gravel, mountain, or utility bike) and a relay division (where you team up with a few friends to complete different legs of the race). We have a #feelgoodfriday story for you! Meet Jo We have a #feelgoodfriday story for you! Meet Joey, one of our new GW Tri members who joined the club this year. He did his first triathlon at Freedom Springs and is headed to Clash Daytona this weekend. ๐Ÿ For the past 6 months, heโ€™s been riding a bike that was two sizes too small ๐Ÿ˜ฌ and at 6โ€™3, he couldnโ€™t find a lot of options. Thankfully, one of our longtime members, Keith, generously gifted Joey with one of his bikes! Joey repaid the kindness with complimentary truck maintenance (heโ€™s a mechanic) and his girlfriendโ€™s famous sourdough bread. ๐Ÿ›ป ๐Ÿž This is what being part of a local triathlon club is all about! It was her 4th Ironman, and she lives here in Tallahassee, but sheโ€™s not a member of Gulf Winds Triathletesโ€ฆ yet. Although she admits to stalking our Instagram page. ๐Ÿ˜‚ But now sheโ€™s coming to a club meeting! FYI, the next one is on Monday, Nov. 20th at Momoโ€™s Pizza Market Street. ๐Ÿชง This is your sign to invite someone you meet (swimmer, cyclist, runner, triathlete, or tri-curious) to a club meeting. Itโ€™s a small world and sometimes all a person really needs is an invitation. Also, we have something special planned for this meeting.
